Springwater Trail HS Announcements

PLEASE NOTICE!!! LAST DAY FOR SENIORS IS JUNE 3, NOT JUNE 5. AWARDS ASSEMBLY WILL BE JUNE 3.

 

Do you have medications in the office? You will need to have your parent or guardian pick them up at the end of this school year. All Medications NOT picked up will be destroyed.

 

It is time to think about credit recovery/summer school if you have failed a class!

MHCC Summer Dates: 7/13/15-8/14/15

Registration opens June 29th and goes until classes are full OR until 7/14!

Cost: $60 per .50 credit (NOTE: The free-reduced lunch discount was discontinued nearly 2 years ago)

Registration Process:

Students who have an MHCC ID#  - (you’ll have one if you have done Credit Recovery, College Now, a dual-credit program, Community Ed, Driver’s Ed, or regular college courses) can register in the same way that a college student would.

Students who do not have an MHCC ID# - will need to apply for admissions using the Credit Recovery and Acceleration application. It is a short application that will code you to be able to register for Credit Recovery courses from Summer 2015 onward, and also generates a permanent MHCC ID#. Once you apply, you will receive your ID# within 1-3 days and then be able to register. Apply NOW so it does not hinder registration!!

 

Direct Instruction classes offered :

M/W 9:00-12:20- Algebra 1 1st sem , Geometry 1st sem, Algebra 2 1st sem.

M/W 1:10-4:30 - Government, English Fr/Soph, English Jr/ Senior

T/TH 9:00-12:20- English Fr/Soph, English Jr/ Senior, Global studies 2nd sem

T/TH 1:10-4:30- Biology 1st sem, English Fr/Soph, English Jr/ Senior, US History 1st sem.

MHCC Online classes: English Fr/Soph, English Jr/ Senior, US History 1,US History 2, Global studies 1, Global studies 2, Geography, Oregon History, Sociology, World History 1, World History 2, Government, Economics, Biology 1, Biology 2, Health, A look at Careers, Career Exploration, Environmental Science, NW Ecology, Chemistry, Intro Chemistry, Earth Science 1 & 2, Conceptual Physics

Seniors….. Your  4-hour job shadows are due NOW !!!  There will be no more reminders. If your job shadow is not turned in by 3:15 on June 3rd you will not be able to walk at graduation.

On Wed, May 20th, STHS will hold its our annual Community Service/Spring Fest.  The entire school will be spending the morning working at Dabney State Park and the afternoon BBQing, hanging out, playing games, and enjoying the sun (hopefully), and watching the STAFF BEAT THE SENIORS IN KICKBALL!! To participate, you must return your Release Form to the office by next Monday, May 18th.  This is a mandatory school event, so please don’t forget to get your release form signed ASAP.

Ambassador applications due to Ms. Centurion  on May 15th

 

Seniors….. You have less than 28 days to get your 4-hour job shadow turned in!!

 

WHO’S YOUR LOCKER PARTNER??????? Did ya pick one yet? Do you wanna pick your locker partner for next year? Get a form from your 5th period teacher or from the office and turn it in ASAP!!

 

Congrats to Jazmin Munoz for winning a $10,000 scholarship from Kaiser Permanente.  She will receive this scholarship at a celebration on May 16 at OHSU at an awards ceremony preceded by a reception including entertainment, appetizers and prizes.

 

Congrats also to Neal Baronian.  He won the HOSA state leadership competition in forensic medicine.  Teams of two were given the challenge to analyze a suspicious death case study and determine the cause, manner and proximate time of death to the best of their ability in 36 minutes or less. Neal and his teammate are now eligible to compete at the national level.

 

Hogan Cedars is looking for 15-20 of our  great Springwater volunteers for their Spring Luau on Friday May15th  6:30-8:30pm  Set-up begins @ 4:00pm. They need help with  games & crafts, bingo, food & facepainting.  Sign up on Mrs. Centurion’s window.
