School Announcements
Daily Announcements May 17
    •  SENIORS!!! - Are you interested in being the senior speaker, representing your class at graduation?  If so, turn in your name to the office by Monday.  The senior speaker will be elected by the senior class but you must turn in your name to get on the ballot.  DON'T DELAY, DO IT TODAY! (weflen)

Next Thursday, May 24th, after community service, bbq and the scavenger hunt the STHS Coffee Shop will be having its first and last EVERYTHING MUST GO SALE!!!!  Everything will be for sale at a severely reduced price....syrups, whipped cream, cups, food etc...If you're interested the sale will start at 3, so make sure to bring your spare change and benjamins.

Next Week is SPIRIT week.  Show your school pride by dressing up.  Monday is PJ day, Tuesday - Preppy Day,  Wed. - Sunglasses Day and Thursday you should be wearing a team costume for the Treasure Island Scavenger Hunt.  There will be a prize for the the team with the best costumes.   If you don't know what team you're on,  it is posted in the commons.   AAARRRGGGHHH!

      • Garden Club is BACK!!  There will be a meeting on Wednesday at 3:45.  We will begin discussing the construction of the STHS garden.  All regular members please attend.  Anyone else who is interested is always welcome.

      • LOCKER PARTNERS FOR NEXT YEAR!  Hey, find a friend, ask them to be locker partners, fill out the form and turn it into the office. Forms are in the office!!!  If you don't pick a locker partner then we will pick one for you.  EVERYBODY gets assigned a locker.

      • There is a group of students who would like to start a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) next year.  This is a group that gets
together and plans for campus awareness activities and helps to make sure out gay and lesbian students feel safe here.
There will be a meeting Thursday May 17th at lunch in one of the classrooms.  See Emily Shaw for details.

      • Attention Students......have ya turned 18 yet???  If so, congrats!  Feel like coming in late or leaving early during the school day?  Yes?  Well, if you are still living at home you still need parent permission.  Just because you have turned 18 does not mean you can come and go as ya please.  If you are living at home your mama still needs to call the office or write a note.

      • Do you want to learn construction skills this summer and get some academic credit on top of that?  The NW College of Construction is accepting applications for its 3 week summer camp.  July 9- July 27th.  You must be age 16-21 to  apply. Go to  www.nwcoc.com     The cost is $50, but they feed you lunch everyday.  Space is limited.

      • ONLY 19 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT...EVEN LESS FOR SENIORS SO GET BUSY MY FRIENDS!

      • Portland is organizing a half marathon on May 20th and is looking for students to volunteer to help.  You get free gifts and a concert as well as a letter stating your community service hours.  Go to their on-line sign up at http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/portland/volunteer

      • Have you seen the posters around school about the Troutdale Animal Shelter?  The shelter is having financial problems like the rest of us.  Without some help from caring citizens like yourself, more animals have to be put to sleep because they cannot be cared for by the shelter.  Please remove the spare change from your pocket (you'll never miss it) and deposit it into one of containers you will see in teacher's classrooms.  If we combine all the change, it will add up and make a difference for these animals, many of whom have been abused and neglected.  Animals have feelings too.
